In 2019, February, I had an amazing day. I went to KM Motor Sdn Bhd to test drive a new and first SUV from PROTON through appointment with my 5 other colleagues. When it started advertise on last year, I was fascinated with it. For me, it look nice and elegant. Based on the look, I think X70 match with women to drive it. It wouldn’t make the women look too powerful or strong. From my opinion, women look more elegance, classy and graceful. How about man, it look gentle and classy. Now, let’s check the amazing car
A bit of the story about the Proton X70, a new Proton car when Geely hold 49.9% share of PROTON (The 1st Malaysian automotive company established in 1983). It is similar to Geely Boyue. The different is Proton X70 is a right hand drive version. It is using Volvo engine and does not used any components from existing PROTON. Proton X70 is directly manufactured and delivered from China added with intellegence or smart tech (technical term: AI system, sensory circuits and image processing) into it. Fuyoh, I am excited (I am electronic engineer- I like technology thingy) to see the car (using rear camera view and merge it to produce a front view image).
There are four types of X70 for you to choose with specs and the price is around RM 102K to 127K including insurance and On The Road.
1. Standard 2WD (STD 2WD) – 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode, 6 SRS airbag, Halogen headlamps, 17″ alloy wheels, fabric seats, 8′ touchscreen head unit, rear view camera, air purifier system.
2. Executive 2WD – STD 2WD + Led headlamps, 18′ alloy wheels, leather seats, driver power seat, 360 camera
3. Executive AWD – Exe 2WD + tyre pressure monitoring system
4. Premium 2WD – Exe AWD + 19″ alloy wheels, advanced driver assistance system, nappa leather seats, front passenger power seat and panoramic sunroof. (Personally view on Premium only offer 2WD: it is because Proton X70 is city car, so preferable on road rather than rough terrains usage.)
There are five colours to select and based on my preferable colours:

We went for a test drive with 7 people in the SUV. What!!! it still feel cozy with 5 people at the back (keep secret on the over limit). There are 4 driving mode you can choose to suit your taste:
Eco: more like guiding you how to drive the car more economical.
Normal: Just regular driving experience
Sport: You can feel the acceleration 0-60 much faster.
SemiAuto: Let you remember how to use manual gear (Hahahahaha)
Each mode give you different experience. The ride really smooth in bumpy road with 7 person. Fuyoh. As we test the SMART of the car, we all agreed that it is quite smart and give comfort. Ohya, it build-in Wifi and SIM card for GPS and Internet purpose. Overall we all like it. Encourage you guys to have a ride on it and experience yourself.
