I delivered whiteboard to a client and found out an interesting tuition center in Senadin. Founders of 2 they created Pusat Tuisyen Pinda Minda in the area starting June. They friendly and guide me to look around their tuition. I would said I am impressive with their design of class room. Currently, they have 1 lecture hall where they can learn and questions teacher in big classroom. Once teacher finished the lecture. They will move to their small classroom (less than 10) or known as tutorial room to do their exercise. That make me curious what are the reasons behind it. They mention the aims:
STEM Education
What is STEM education? A curiculum is known as Science, Technology Engineering, and Mathematics. And it become an attention to Sarawak Government for they want Sarawak to move into Industry 4.0 (SMART). Miri had done the 1st Southern Sarawak STEM event in August. Hope you still remember the event. I would said that is a great success to us as IEEE Branch in Miri. Why STEM education importance? As I mention, Sarawak is moving towards Industry 4.0. More jobs required the skills. If you google search on job opportunity in future, you found out most of them are STEM jobs. You don’t have to worry much on requirement. As long you got basic, it will give you some jobs. I encourage you go for higher education if possible.
Small Group Guidance
They want to have a small group so that have better interaction between students and tutors. It is good way for teacher to observe the students’ studies and easy to give accurate feedback to each student. This will help students to boost up their interest in learning.
Community Outreach Programme
I would like to salute them of their effort to help the low income people in the area by offering Tuition just by RM1 (0.24USD) to their children. So far, this is the only tuition center that doing it in Miri. When I ask about how about the earning. They said “well, earning is not our passion but helping the next generation for better future is our goal.” If you are interest or know someone who need it, please share to them.
